Principal

I am honored to serve as the principal of North Middle School.

I was born and raised in Franklin County and this has been my home except for my 3.5 years living in Murfreesboro attending MTSU. I attended Clark Memorial, North Middle, and FCHS while in Franklin County. I earned my Bachelor's degree from MTSU in Interdisciplinary Studies 5-8 (2007) and my Master's degree in Administration and Supervision (2011). I completed my Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University in 2020.  I am a life-long learner and model a growth mindset for my faculty and students.  One of my favorite quotes is "Do the best you can until you know better.  Then when you know better, do better" by Maya Angelou and I use experiences, both good and bad, as growth opportunities.

I began my teaching career in Franklin County as an interim reading teacher at Huntland for the spring semester in 2008. I accepted a teaching position at South Middle for the 2008-2009 school year and that was my home for the next eleven and a half years. I was in the classroom for four years and then transitioned to an instructional coach position, which I did for two years. I became the assistant principal of South in 2014 and worked in that capacity until January 2020 when I accepted the role of principal of North Middle.

I married my high school sweetheart, Scott, and together we have two beautiful, precious daughters (4th and 6th grades) and four fur babies, two giant schnauzers (Kenobi and Vada), a mini Australian shepherd (Darcy) and a cat (Finn). We also claim ducks and chickens. Between cheering on our daughters in travel soccer and basketball and our careers, we are constantly on the move. When we have free time, we love hanging out as a family, reading, and being outdoors.

I encourage collaboration between home and school and welcome parents and guardians to contact me when questions and concerns arise.  Email is the most efficient form of communication.  It is best to schedule an appointment if an in-person meeting is requested to ensure the most productive use of time (form included on this page to easily schedule an appointment).

Go big red!
